In their internal application centre, showroom, Sihl media experts show and support their print providers, advertising agencies, decorators along with interior designers, architects, label printers and coaters with innovative materials and solutions.

The application centre in the Düren plant can be found in the production rooms of the earlier printers. Where, in times gone by, a classic high speed printer “Heidelberger Tiegel” performed its work; today visitors can see the new trends on the digital printing market. In the design of the centre, sihl used elements of modern industrial design while maintaining the charm of the former printing studio – in accordance with the motto “Tradition meets Modern”.

Better equipped for all demands

Sihl have expanded and rearranged the application centre, come showroom. With around 600 sqm, the production space has a complete representation across the band of current digital print technologies. Alongside the sections of ADVERTISING & POS, PHOTO & ART, DYE SUBLIMATION, HOME + OFFICE and INTERIOR DESIGN, April saw the introduction of two new sections FACESTOCK and DURABLES. Visitors can let themselves be persuaded by the high quality of the materials, test the haptic, as well as experience the products in their given application and discover profitable market niches.

The application centre is a working centre, creating the perfect environment for testing, especially during product development. While doubling as a showroom, offering the ideal surroundings for providing customers with practical advice, as the specialists are doing more than just demonstrating the creative possibilities of their coating solutions. The latest printers are used to test and put materials through their paces.

The customers profit on a number of levels: on-demand customer specific profiles can be generated directly in the application centre, while as a showroom it serves to present the customer requested applications.

Additionally, the production and tracking of all printed samples and swatch books needed for the Sihl plants can be coordinated by the application centre.
